Hi there,

I' d like to ask...I punctured my finger by needle during subculturing empty HEK 293 cells? Is there any health risk?Should I be worried? sad.gif Her finger.

I remember someone else raised the same question before with another cell line. Well, you should report it to Occupational Safety Office about it so that you will have a record, should anything happens to you later.

But seriously, I think you will be fine. The risk is low.

I would indeed report it to you safety office, but I seriously also believe you should be fine. You got a lot of systems in your body that will defend you from strange intruders (and that is in the worst case scenario that indeed cells have come in).
