pcr machine - construction (Mar/23/2007 )
can any one tell me about some construction and working of PCR machine, basically how many parts make one pcr machine.
any helping link.
i have tried to find out but not found.
thanx for any information.
All a PCR machine consists of is a fancy computer controlled hotplate. It heats, it cools, repeat. Most commercial ones use peltier effect coolers (they also heat). If you are thinking of making one, I'd recommend that instead you use three water baths and either move the tubes between them, or (better) use computer controlled valves to flow one of the three water baths into the block holding the PCR tubes. I believe the magazine MAKE had a section on homemade PCR machines.
