New to Area. - (Mar/19/2007 )

Hi,

I'm new to the area and was wondering about SSI treated DNA. From what I can gather, it can be used as a positive control for methylation status as it methylates DNA?? Is that right??

I need to use it as a control in a PCR for Bisulfite treated DNA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Casey,

welcome to a new and exciting field.

SssI methylase DNA can be used as a control, but it has to also be bisulfite treated as well as your samples.

Good lcuk
