Increased mitosis after transfection - Which molecular parameters should be checked? (Feb/03/2007 )

After transfection of MDCK cells with a non-active protein kinase I have observed an obviously increased mitosis leading to disintegration of the epithelium; which (molecular) parameters should be checked to verify increased indeed increased mitosis (increased activity or expression of cyclin kinases? which?) ?

I've measured easy parametes like growth curves (transfected vs non-transfected), BrdU incorporation, levels and activation of cell cycle checkpoints like Cyclin D and Cyclin Dependent Kinases, in specific CDK1. Hope it helps.
