i think it doesnt make much difference in what you do. you can be making a phD or sitting at home or travelling. in any case you will be learning something new. so appreciate your work right now as something that is teaching you something new. be thankful to its difficulties and happy moments. learn, learn and learn. good luck!

rant and rave ever so often.

think of science projects other then your own. And how you would accomplish them if they somebody would only give you the money.

Dear Kathy and Penneerblue.,

Thanks for responses. i know its really tough to get motivated somtimes, do have problems with friends, collegues, PIs, and even hate to be myself! Going down really made me no energy after all. But still i have a e-friend to get contacted and share everything. Credit for protocol online.

I have a problem with having 3 major projects which one of these project is my MSc project that i have to finished. I dont know what happened or i will be finished later. At the end of the day, i use to send a report to my PIs. Now you have no choice to run away. Let say,You have only two choices in this situation;

1. Do all the three projects together and make a report at the end of the day.
2. Do one by one and produce a report after completed the particular projects.

If you were me, which describe you the best and why you choose 1 or 2?
Or you have other safer alternatives?

Thanks blink.gif HELPPPPP me

hi,

if I were you, I will do one of three project.

just because I prefer to focus one thing.
Besides, I am PhD student and I have four project right now.
My priority is always depending on the funding situation.
So, I will do the experiment, which is important as a preliminaly data for the next grant.
(that makes PI happy)

Good LUck

I would do all three.

That way, you don't have any empty time. As there willl always be work from one project or another that needs doing.

Furthermore, it is a sad fact that most things don't pan out. So doing all three at the same time, allows you to get an early feel which poject isn't doing too well and may have no future. (Ie you can drop it and concentrate your time on the project that do work) Doing things serially, won't allow you to see which project has the better future.

I quite agree with perneseblue. I had to work on more than 3 projects during my PhD. I was lucky enough to balance them and eventually, got all of them published.

try to learn as much as possible during this time. Definitely, you will learn more if you work on more than 1 project.

I wouldnt give reports every day about all 3 projects. Report one project each time not all three. Makes a good impression when your PI notices progress everyday.
