heterozygous and homozygous - (Jan/17/2007 )

[size="7"]I have to write a lab report on a project i did in class & the project we did was to find out if we were heterozygous or homozygous but i don't know how 2 make a hypothesis for it. Does any1 no how i should state my hypothesis? biggrin.gif thanks

you mean making a pedigree? this depends on your parents genotypes sleep.gif

We are heterozygous and homozy, it depends of the trait that you are looking for. Search for a trait (eg hairline, earlobes, etc...and make a pedigree looking the trait into your siblings, parents, grandparents, etc. and then you could know if you are homozy/heterozy to that particular trait

A hypothesis?

Do you have anything you which to prove? A hypothesis is a set of statements that you believe governs a system.

Perhaps you are looking for is an argument why you have come to the conclusion that you are either homozygous/heterozygous for the trait under study?

In which case, it is best if you look up the definitions of homozygous and heterozygous.
