do you coat plates for HEK transfection? - (Jan/11/2007 )

some poeple here in the lab say its necessary to coat with collagen, others say it's ok not to. wacko.gif what do you do?

when i am doing transfection of 293 cells for further lysis exp. i dont coat the plates with collagen but when i want to do transfection for further immunostaining i do coat the plates with collagen.

thank you! I just want to detect if there is a fluorescence or not. so i guess it's ok not to coat. unsure.gif

when we plate HEK cells for immunofluorescence staining, we donot coat plates.
