Composition agar - (Dec/14/2006 )

Hello forumer,

Is anyone know if agar (using for petri dish) contain phosphate or not?

If you mean relatively pure agar (Bacto Agar, e.g.) or the purer versions such as Agar Noble or agarose, then no, except as an impurity. Many of the agar mixes with nutrients likely do contain phosphate.

does this phosphate can make an effect in culture condition???

No It's just because I work on phosphate uptake and I need liquid and solid media without phosphate.
