How to avoid becoming a total geek? - (Dec/12/2006 )

Pages: 1 2 Next

I've been doing my PhD for 4 months now and it's going great, but its easy to forget that there's a world out there - spending so long looking down a microscope, thinking about things I can't even see.

I was wondering what everyone else does to escape from it?, science I mean!

I'm really into kiteboarding, and that definately takes my mind off it! How about you guys?

We are the Borg. Fun is irrelevent. Food is irrelevent. Sleep is irrevelent. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your mind and body will adapt to service us.

Actually, i write short stories.

Embrace it, don't fight it. I'll send anyone who wants one a "Nerd Pride" pocket protector.

Thank god for "geek chic"

and my dog.

You must learn to embrace your inner (and outer) geek.

phage434, are you serious about the pocket protector?

If in 4 months it's going great I'll suggest you stay focused, work hard.

Then when nothing is working in the lab, the advantage of kiteboarding is that you're in control of it unlike your lab work so you find it more enjoyable during trouble shooting times

I have not been able to become a total geek till now. . . can anyone tell the 'tips and tricks' to be a geek.

Once I achieve that . . . I will then need that 'Nerd Pride' thing.

-Nabin-

Yes, I'm serious. PM me with an address, and I'll send one.
