Interleukin-3 is a cytokine secreted by activated T cells to support growth and differentiation of T cells from the bone marrow in an immune response. It supports the proliferation of hematopoietic cells. It is involved in a variety of cell activities such as cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. IL-3 also posseses neurotrophic activity, and it may be associated with neurologic disorders

Hope it helps.
