NCBI Data Download - Nucleotide Download (Dec/02/2006 )

hello,
i am working on a project that requires me to download all the nucleotide data available on Flaviviridae and then do the analysis.
i used the ncbi taxonomy browser to look at all the data at once and found it this way http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Taxonomy/Brows...de=1&unlock

i mean there are so many of the nucleotides present, i have to click on each to download it and there are more then a 100 nucleotides to be downloaded which then has to be used for analysis using bioedit, mega and dna star. i tried collecting the acession numbers alone, but there are so many that i don't think i will be able to complete it.
i would liek to knwo if there is any way of downloading all the sequences of Flaviviridae, in one shot and the data should be useable by the softwares i have mentioned above. it would be great if i could get some help..

You can click the organism name on this page you provided which will lead to this page. On the right side, there is a box showing sequences related to this organism. There are 60,317 nucleotides for Flaviviridae. Click on the nucleotide number, you will get this page, Then in the Display box, choose Fasta (default is Summary), 20 sequence in Fasta format will be displayed. Then select "sent to" to "File", a popup window will appear prompting you to save the file. Although only 20 sequences are displayed by default, all 60,317 sequences will be saved if you choose sent to file.

Hope that helps.

You are welcome. I once spent months exploring NCBI site as my job.

Or couldn't you just visit the ftp site and click download?
