monocytic cell line differentiation - (Nov/14/2006 )

I'm trying to differenciate U937 cell lines with ATRA, does anyone nkow the best way to use and go about it please?

Sure you are not trying to use NB4 cells as the ATRA inhibits pml-rar fusion. Have used 1uM in the past. Need to dissolve in ETOH because of soluability. Very unstable, protect from light, keep cold. See info from sigma, ect.

Cheers for the advice Tap14! Its definately U937 cells and after growing them I am going to differenciate them with ATRA and look at TF expression. I am writing a protocol at the moment, and have seen in some papers to dilute it in ethanol at 1um like you have suggested. It is a very new topic to me so i would be most grateful for any future tips or advice!
