ChIP and CpG island microarrays - (Oct/20/2006 )

Can anyone clarify for me if ChIP must be performed before CpG island microarrays are conducted on genomic DNA?

Either Chip or MeDIP. Chip is chromatin immunoprecipitation, you can however perform methylated DNA IP (MeDIP) which uses an antibody against 5mC. Alturnatively it is possible to perform a methylsensitive restriction digest along with the methyl insensitive isoschizimer, isolate appropriate size range from both and the co hybridize.
