writing a research statement - help required (Oct/18/2006 )

Hi

I am applying to a few high ranking univ for Ph.D. Most of the univ require a research statement or a project proposal. Can anyone advice me as to how to go about writing a research statement. If possible can anyone send me sample research statement? I am worried coz i dont want to loose an opportunity just because of a sloppy research statement.

If you search google using "research statement" you can find many written by people like you. They should be good templates for yours.

Well i googled but so far have not come across anything useful...I believe many of u guys are phD students so any piece of advice n suggestion along with some sample statements will be of great use n help..
