3 main attributes of an assay - (Oct/04/2006 )

Hey everyone

What are the 3 main attributes of an assay with which the experimenter is concerned?

also,

What is the major criterion to be used to measure the concentration of a substance in a test sample in combination with a calibration curve?

Main 3 attributes: reproducibility, sensitivity and specificity

Calibration curve: that your test sample lies within the calibration/standard curve range.

Basically a calibration curve is done with known concentration of the substance of interest, to locate the absorbance related with the known concentrations, so when you have the same substance of unknown concentration you can extrapolate in the calibration curve that fits the absorbance measured in your sample
