Help: bFGF or EGF for mouse neural stem cells - (Sep/21/2006 )

I am quite confused after referring to various protocols for growing mouse neural stem cell: some add EGF, some add bFGF and some add both in growth media.

Dear friends, who can tell me your experience for this problem?

thanks!

we use bFGF for rat NSCs

-Oryx-

Actually, bFGF is required only in culturing the adult neural stem

cell whereas EGF is used to culturing the embryonic neural stem

cell(also called EGF reponsive neurosphere) which is more earlier

progenitor than adult neural stem cell.
