Bone Marrow from Mouse - Anyone have a detailed protocol? (Sep/06/2006 )

Hello,

I have to euthanize mice and remove spleen and extract cells which I have done before. But this time I also have to remove bone marrow. Does anyone have a good protocol on the most effective way of doing this?

Thanks in advance.

1. kill the mouse
2. remove the skin on the lower limb
3. remove the muscle around the femurs
4. remove femurs and wash with ethanol on a culture dish
5. cut both end of the femur and put in a culture dish with DMEM
6. flush the bone marrow by using a syring
