How to merge EndNote reference libraries - Joining libraries (Aug/31/2006 )

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to join two or more libraries in EndNote? And if yes, how?

Open one librarie, click on File - Import. Select the file of the librarie you want to added. For "Import Option" chose "End Note Library". Now you can select the way to work with dublicates. Click on import and all datas are importes in the first librarie...

Thank you very much! But now I have a different problem: The library I have been sent, is not compatible with EndNote6 (which I use) and I don't know with which EndNote the library has been written...Any ideas?

You could try this way:
Ask the person you get the librarie from, to export the lib. as xml-file.
Import this xml with Import Option "End Note XML-File"

Another problem...I can only export the library as .txt, .rtf, or .htm

You could try it as a txt file. But than you have to try some of the import options (I´m not sure, which one will import correct...)

The library that you have received is probably saved in latest version of Endnote (may be version8 or 9).
Endnote6 can only open library, which is saved using Version 6 or earlier version.
May try to get the latest version from someone else.
