Cholera toxin in culture medium - Effect of cholera toxin (Aug/14/2006 )

Hi all!

I´m considering to do some experiments with a cell line I haven´t worked with yet. In the literature I saw that one supplement of the appropriate medium is cholera toxin, so I was wondering what the effect of the toxin might be in the media?
Accelerated cAMP levels, signalling, bla bla bla. Haven´t found really satisfying answers so far... .

Anybody around having experiences in that?

i'm not a specialist but i know that CT induces apoptosis in certain primary cells and cell lines...
