Bacteria alive or dead in zone of inhibition? - (Jun/15/2006 )

I tested E. Coli with listerine using the disk diffusion method, a large zone of inhibition formed on the plate. How can I find out if the bacteria in the zone of inhibition are dead or alive?

Use a wire loop wipe the zone of inhibition and streak a new plate.

I hope this may help.

I will try it on Monday. I'll let you know. Thanks for your help.
