normalization by b-actin - (Apr/09/2006 )

Hi everyone,

Do you know how to normalize the data shown in graph by b-actin control? Because I would like to put my northern and southern blot results in graphs (shown relative intensity of those bands), but those data have not been normalized by b-actin control. So can anyone of you tell me how to do so...? sorry for raising a stupid Maths question.

What we want to do is normalise the the intensities so that they sum to one but retain the same ratios to one another. To do this divide every intesity by the sum of all intensities.
