What are the morphologic features of cells undergoing dedifferentiation - (Feb/24/2006 )

Hello All,

Could someone tell me what are the typical morphological features when a cell is undergoing dedifferentiation? I am studying epithelial cells and do notice some morphological changes after treatment but don't know if they are characteristic of dedifferentiation.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,
What is the source of your epithelial cell? The morphology cannot certify that a cell is undergoing de-differentiation. You have to show something biochemically (immunostaining, PCR ,western) to show that the cell shuttles between two differentiated adult kind to prove dedifferentiation.

if you find and prove the dedifferentiation of special cells, you may deserve a big paper!! biggrin.gif
