linking gene to disease - (Feb/21/2006 )

Dear all: I have a newbie question -

is there a database/program that I can simply enter a gene location/sequence and find if it is linked to any human disease.

For example say I am interested in gene xyz (know its sequence and location) - now I suspect that it is related to schizophrenia - thus I would like to take this information and see if its ever been link to schizophrenia in humans or any other human related disease.

I hope this question makes sense. thanks in advance. tongue.gif

I would think one of the PubMed utilities would work for you?

try OMIM

also try a literature search, with your gene name
