puromycin in culture medium - (Jan/11/2006 )

Hi everyone

Should I continue add selection pressure in the media if I get the stable clones from puromycin antibiotic selection?

for puromycin, i do generally 10j of selection, and stop the antibio.
Then every month/2month, i do a 3day selection.

Thanks for your reply. Does puromycin have stronger effect than G418 because of it can work on dividing and non-dividing cells or not?

puromycin is qualified by my boss as useful for all newbies...
That means selection is quite easy.
G418 takes a lot of time to select (more than 15days, and a month to be sure...).
