DNA purification for ChIP - way to get clean DNA without using phenol (Nov/24/2005 )

HELLO:
I finished the ChiP today and after the centrifugation with 100% ethanol I got a white pellet that semed to me like DNA but not clean (maybe with solt). I separeted the DNA with phenol chloroform twice and once with chloroform. The step afterwords was to precipitate the DNA with kolagen (carrier), 3M sodium Acetate.
If you have any idear whay, please let me know.
Thank you, shiri

kolagen is a carrier that co-precipitates with your DNA and aids in optimal precipitation of low amounts of DNA, 3M Na Acetate along with ethanol will precipitate both the DNA and kolagen together.

Now Upstate is selling a kit called Ez-Chip kit with polypropylene spin columns included for DNA purification.

THANK YOU

I have no idear why I wrote kolagen when I ment glykogen, Which is a carrier too. As a protein I think that even if it is precipitated it's not sopposed to give me white pellet.
Agin, Thank you for your time.

actually, glycogen does give you a white pellet after precipitation.
