Do you know a commercial protein which attaches well to Vero cells - Need a positive control in immunofluorescence (Nov/23/2005 )

Hi,

I am searching for the commercial, not very expensive protein which attaches well to Vero cells, to have a positive control in my immunofluorescence. Do you know any?

second question:

Is it necessary to block the fixed cells with PBS/ 3% BSA before coming with specific protein? Do you always do this step?

third question:

Could parafarmaldehyd be re-used for the same type of cells? Because it ise quite .... to prepare it.

I don't know about vero cell specific protein, but about blocking-- Yes you have to block fixed cells, otherwise you will get non specific staning. I block it with PBS, 10% serum (animal source depends on secondary antibody) and 0.1 % tritonX(for permeability).

Well, I never reuse paraformaldehyde. I use commercial pre made 37%paraformaldehyde. It is very cheap.
