Minimum amount of DNA for Bisulphite treatment - (Nov/18/2005 )

Hi

I'm new to methylation and was wondering what is the minimum amount of DNA required for Bisulphite treatment. I will further need to use this DNA for MSP.
I am not using cell lines and most papers I have see use a microgram, thats too much of DNA for me to use.

Please help. sad.gif

Hi "learning",

I'm using DNA from tumor and I use 500-600 nanograms for bisulfit treatment. I use the GENECLEAN II kit.

I hope this will be helpful for you.

Best wishes

Hi Valencia

Thanks for that info. Is the protocol you use the same as that put up on this site or are there any specific modifications that you add since its such a low amount of starting DNA?
Thanks

Hello,

You may have a look at this protocol which deals with nanograms of DNA as well as usual amount of DNA.
