trypsin and chemotrypsin - does calcium protect cells from chemotrypsin (Oct/11/2005 )

Hi, a basic question. Calcium protects cells from trypsinization, how?
and.. can I use chemotrypsin for cell dissociation? will calcium works the same as in the trypsin case?
thanks

this is , of course chymotrypsin and chemo...

how much calcium are you talking?

we dissociate with 1.15mM Ca in the medium without a problem, using trypsin
