Zymography and Sucrose - (Aug/28/2009 )

Hi everyone,

I need to run some zymography experiments soon and was looking up different protocols for it. The first one I read was from Current Protocols and in it's recipe, sucrose was included in setting up the gels. I was very curious and at the same time confused at why sucrose is important. I searched many other places and yet couldn't find an answer. Does anyone know about this? I really appreciate your help :P


P.S. by the way, other protocols that i read don't seem to have sucrose, so i guess it's dispensable?


Hmm....Seems nobody came across something similar in the recipe?
