store whole blood with tri-reagent too long caused RNA degradation or poor RNA q - (Jul/26/2009 )

Just wonder if i freeze my whole blood containing tri-reagent in -80 for about 1 or 2 months can cause degradation of rna or poorer quality? can't isolate from fresh due to certain unavoidable reason. thanks.

That should be fine. RNA is stable at -80, and tri-reagent inhibits RNAse activity. I store tissue in trizol at -80 all the time.
