Cell pellet pesuspension without Vortexing or pippeting - seeking advice - (Jul/23/2009 )

Hi Everyone,

I wonder if any of you know a way to separate cell pellets without vortexing or pippeting. These cells are very fragile and it seems that vortexing and pippeting is too harsh for them. So is there another method to do it? Any ideas?... I have been trying to find info on this online, but no luck.....I guess most people can just vortex or pipette. Any advise on this would be very much appreciated. Also, if you know of any reference, or anyone who may know more about this, please let me know.

Cheers,

Alex

Two methods for mixing are less harsh.

1. Flicking
2. Pipetting with a wider bore tip. Gently.

You could also try using a fire-polished glass pipette.
