What stains red in trypan blue - (Jun/25/2009 )

Im doing an aortic vessel enzyme digestion with collagenase and elastase and continue to find these small fragments in the culture dish (presumably ECM debris) that take up trypan blue however these pieces of debris stain red.

Any ideas just out of curiosity?

Interesting. No idea, though! Let us know when you figure this out!

have you performed a negative control? ie, does the red staining come up if no trypan blue is added? could just be some sort of artifact. Not sure of any red staining with trypan blue but perhaps it got mixed in with something else - try a fresh batch. otherwise, I would love to know when/if you find out.
