lysate fractionation techniques - (Jun/24/2009 )

I have cell lysate that I need to separate into 5 or 10 fractions. The lysate can be fractionated in any way I just need to create fractions that contain proteins at say 5-10 times normal abundance (concentration by dialysis or a similar technique will not do. I need separate fractions).

I have read about ammonium sulfate precipitation but with what I will be using the fractions for I don't like the idea of precipitating protein and would prefer an alternative.

Thanks for any help.

you can run on gel filtration (eg sephacryl s-300, superose 6) and fractionate by size.
