concentration of dna - (Jun/18/2009 )

hi all

i am having a doubt;

what is the minimum concentration of dna that is possible to be seen in agarose gel?Is it decided from the dna ladder?

the minimum amount is dependent on the stain that is used. etbr DNA detection limit is about 10 ng of DNA.

I've always been told you needed about 200 ng but I've never tested this. Generally, if my PCR worked, I can see a band if I load 5 ul from a 50 ul rxn.

Yes, I'd also say about 50-200ng for a good gel.
