Resuspend bacterial pellet - (May/07/2009 )

I have to miniprep some sample from which the bacterial pellets have been stored for more than 6 months at -20. I've found some of them hard to resuspend even after vortexing and heating up to 37.
do you have any suggestion?

vortex the pellet before adding any solutions. It is easier to break up the pellet before adding the cell lysis solution.

You can freeze and thaw several times before you do the miniprep directly.

Tell you one trick that I use...use the pipette to resuspend the pellet as vortexing takes forever...
