Storage condition for SDS-PAGE reagents?? - which type of bottels?? (May/05/2009 )

hi

i was just wondering which type of bottels should be used to store the stock solution for SDS-PAGE?? {lets say should we do it in glass bottels or polypropylene bottels can be used??}

thanks a lot

Entirely depends upon what reagent it is. I generally use glass (but don't see a problem with polypropylene), just cover the APS (I make small aliquots in an eppendorf) and Acrylamide (you can use amber bottles) and store at the right temperature.

Best,
TC

hi
presently we use polypropylene only for Tris buffer...
what about acrylamide and SDS (20% stock) is it ok to store them also in polypropylene bottle??

Hey,

I really don't see any problem storing them in polypropylene. Cover acrylamide with Al foil.

TC
