Chromogenic Media - (Mar/11/2009 )
Hi I'm looking to see if anyone knows what Chromogenic media is. I came across this media on a website while I was looking for selective media for Vibrio species. Also, has anyone every used the HiCrome Vibro media.

I've never used the vibrio media, but chromogenic media is media that turns your desired bacterial colonies (in your case Vibrio) a specific color. Other species might grow but will not be the same color. What I'm not sure of is how selective the chromogenic media is for just your species, but if it's calling itself Vibrio media it's probably pretty specific. Hope this helps.
