Centrosome vs Centriole - (Jan/11/2019 )

Hi,

          Why do most biology professors refer to the organelles inside cell that help with Mitosis/Meiosis and centrioles, instead of centrosomes? I believe the centrosome is the overall organelle, while centroles are the two parts of the organelle. Just curious.

I meant anyone who wrote things about cell biology. I don't actually have a professor.

In that case, maybe it?s because the centriole is the functional part of the centrosome
