real-time PCR machine error - (Jul/03/2018 )

I am having a problem with the real-time PCR machine (ABI 7500) we have, sometimes it shows a message  (Analysis cannot proceed: not enough samples defined).

However, I have a full 96-well plate full of samples and it shows Ct values and a nice exponential curve at the end of the run, but I cannot export the results in an  excel file.

Anyone faced this issue before? what could be the reason? I am running my plates exactly in a similar manner for some of them such message is displayed while others are fine!

Hi- my experience is with the ABI Quant Studio, but I have seen people get errors like that if they have not completely defined the well contents. They have to go back into the “set up” screen, define everything correctly, and “re-analyze” before exporting. Sometimes there are communication errors between the instrument and the computer it is attached to, and this often results from failing to delete the older run records accumulating on the instrument itself. (Runs are save on both automatically, but if they pile up on the instrument it causes error messages and apparent weird results when viewed on the computer.)  Not sure the 7500 works the same, but it is worth considering. Also, the good old “reboot everything” sometimes helps, but no guarantee.
