Is there a general method to easily make cells cancerous?

What do you mean by cancerous?

If by it you mean capable of un-restricted division (i.e. no longer has a Hayflick limit), then yes: try HPV e7 or SV-40 T-ag. You can also do this by serial passage of primary cells, but it is very labour intensive and time consuming and has a low success rate.
