Transfection Vs Transduction - (Feb/23/2018 )

Could someone help me with the difference between transfection and transduction? I have googled the terms but it's confusing.

Also, does transducing a neuron is similar to knocking it down?

The end result is similar, but transduction uses viruses to get the genetic material in, whereas transfection uses chemical or other non-biological means.
