DNA extraction - (Feb/06/2018 )

Hi everyone, 

I want to ask you, maybe someone knows about DNA extraction with zymoresearch Quick DNA™ Plant/Seed Miniprep Kit. Tomorrow I want to extract DNA from cultures, but in laboratory we don't have beta mercaptoethanol  One of mine colleagues mention that is not necessary to add beta mercaptoethanol in Genomic Lysis Buffer (full protocol http://d2gsy6rsbfrvyb.cloudfront.net/media/amasty/amfile/attach/_D6020_Quick-DNA_PlantSeed_Miniprep_Kit_ver_2.1.0.pdf ). I am not sure how that will affect my DNA extraction. 

Maybe someone knows if there is any difference in extraction DNA with or without beta mercaptoethanol?

The 2-ME is used to remove tannins and poly-phenolics that are common in plants. As you have cultures (which tissue?) then you might be OK without it.
