Cycloheximide concentration - (May/25/2017 )

Hello,

I'm attempting pulse chase assay.

I concentration I'm looking to use is 25microgram/mL.

I have 14X 100mm dishes and each takes 10mL. Can I multiply 25μg/mL by 140 to get the concentration I need for each dish resulting in dissolving 3.5mg in 140mL?

Is that right, or did I make a mistake?

That is correct 3.5 mg in 140 ml will give you 25 ug/ml. However usually cycloheximide is prepared at 10 mg/ml and then diluted. It is a lot easier and more consistent to weigh a larger mass and then dilute, than it is to weigh small masses repeatedly.

Thanks.
