Question about transfecting siRNA into cells - (Mar/17/2017 )

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question.  When adding the siRNA complex to the cells, what kind of media do we keep the cells in during transfection.  Someone told me to add just opti-mem to the cells and transfect in those for 6 hours, and then replace the opti-mem with regular growth media since siRNA will already be in the cells.  The company tech support told me to add 20% opti-mem to DMEM and transfect.

Not really sure what to do..
