Total recovery of lyophilized enzyme standard ;) - (Jun/23/2016 )

Hi all,

I have a lab technique problem. I purchased a lyophilized enzyme standard from Sigma.

As you know, there is vacuum inside these lyophiling vial. When I use needle pierce the stopper to release the vacuum, the lyophilized enzyme become so fine that it could almost go everywhere.

many of them go to the bottle neck and could not easily recovery.

Indeed, as I have to use it as a reference standard, significant loss of the powder cause problems.

How could you overcome this problem ?

Many thanks

The general idea is that you put the enzyme into solution by injecting a solution into the vial. Then you can open the vial and aliquot.
