Can I incubate two membranes in one container? - (Dec/02/2015 )

Has anyone tried incubating two membranes in the same container when using the same primary?  I figure it might be possible to use a little more solution than I would normally use for one membrane, but still save a bunch of antibody compared to two separate containers.

Thanks!  Hilary

Yes, and it works, but you just need to ensure that you have enough solution that both membranes get access to the solution. This can be achieved by having a bigger volume that you might use for 1 membrane or by switching the positions of the membranes (top to bottom) halfway through the incubation (and doing a longer incubation). You could also do them sequentially.

Thank you!  I will give it a go.
