Agarose Gel Electrophoresis - (May/05/2015 )

Hi All,

I am still doing the old fashioned PCR where I run my products on gel and then image them under UV to analyze expression levels.

I am taught to run my gel for 60min at 60V. But I'm wondering, if I know which gene is loaded into which well, do I need to run the full 60min to just get the bands so I can analyze them?

In other words, if I just want to analyze the expression levels, can I just run for 20min (for example) so the bands form?
