i found red color bacterial colonies on s.s agar? why it should b because the media for e.coli is maconci agar

You should look up the purpose of SS medium, and how it works...

Hint: lactose...

You can grow E coli on SS agar but isnt it more specifically for Salmonella and Shigella? 

They should turn red because E coli ferments lactose. Salmonella and Shigella dont.
