Please help urgently - (Jan/25/2015 )

Please, if 95% methanol is used for plant extraction will there be methanol traces in the resulting crude extract and can that have any effect on the activity of the extract?

Also, can I reconstitute extract using their corresponding solvent of extraction without the solvent affecting my result for example reconstituting extract with methanol (methanol was initially used for the extraction)

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Pleaso don't use nonspecific thread titles with "help" in them and doble post, when you can make a single thread with both questions.

Also, you need some urgent answers but you give no details about what are you doing, why are you doing it and you are very unspecific in general.

if you're extracting with 95% methanol then much of the extract will not be water soluble. removing the alcohol will give a precipitate which may interfere with later stages. as for activity, it depends on what activity you're talking about.
