Research topic related to jurkat cell line - (Jan/16/2015 )

Hi all,

I am an undergraduate student doing my internship in this semester. Can anybody suggest me that what are the good research titles related to jurkat cell line? Previous intern did optimal seeding density on jurkat cells. So can anyone please give some advice on that? By the way, the duration of my attachment is 5months. Thank you in advance.

This depends entirely upon what your mentor wants you to accomplish in 5 months, how much resources she can spare for you, and what is your level of enthusiasm for learning and achieving something.

Jurkat cell line has been around since before I was born (which was not last year), so while you can do things like optimal seeding density for months on end, if I were in your place, I would say what is the point. But that is me, I was more ambitious even as a undergraduate student.

Tell you mentor that you will give it your all, that you are willing to learn and work hard for it, and ask for a worthwhile project that only she can think of in the context of her resources and research direction.

Sorry, no definitive help, but you may thank me later.

Hi,
i saw ur reply to the topic that i have posted. Actually the company that i am doing my internship now is trying to develop bio-reactor for activated cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Since jurkat cells are T lymphocytes, they are trying to use that to mimic CTL. Currently they are facing the problem with the activated T lymphocyte. Once activated, the viability of the lymphocytes decrease but we don't know the certain reason behind. There is a suggestion that this may be due to the shear stress during the pipetting while stimulation. So how can we increase the viability of the cells?
Sorry if my question is a bit long-winded and complicated.
